Assalaam High School, South C Nairobi Kenya The Islamic Department headed by Mr. Shariff Hassan, who is also our IRE/ARABIC teacher, planned for da'awa sessions to engage our students constructively during lunch break in the holy month of Ramadhan. Fasting may cause some students experience low blood sugar, weakness, and other symptoms and therefore need for support from adults to enable them practice their religion effectively. Highly knowledgeable Islamic teachers were sourced from nearby institutions to support the learners. The objectives of the sessions was to; 1. Remind the students the importance of fasting. 2. Provide support environment for students to feel comfortable to practice their religion. 3. Offer counseling especially to those whose fasting is hard on them emotionally. The As Salaam High School held 2019 The Annual Qur'an Competition on 22nd of May 2019.  The one day event was og anized in partnership with Textbook Centre and Ilm TV that saw the winners awarded gift vouchers from Textbook Centre Textbook Centre, Nairobi  , Nairobi.  r Awarding the Qur'an competition participants; looking on is Mr. Hassan Kibiti, the principal of Assalaam High school  Meet Hussein Ahmed and Abdiqadir Mohammed (Form 2) who emerged the best in the 30 chapter category.
